College-Bound Seniors Reports: K–12
Reports for high schools and districts based on SAT results of 2008 graduating high school seniors
SAT College-Bound Seniors Reports provide valuable information about your 2008 senior class. Information is summarized for seniors who took the SAT Reasoning Test or SAT Subject Tests at any time during their high school years through March 2008.
Information such as the number of test-takers and mean scores is presented in a variety of ways, including by:
- Gender
- Ethnicity
- Course-taking patterns
- GPA
- And many other variables
Performance data over a five-year period are provided for analyzing trends. For students who tested more than once during high school, only the most recent score is used.
Free reports on SAT performance
The College Board offers the following reports on SAT performance at no cost to educators:
- High School Basic Report: This free report is sent to every high school that had 25 or more seniors take an SAT Program test at any time during their high school years.
- Total Group (National) and State Profile Reports: Free Profile Reports for the Total Group and individual states can be accessed on our website at www.collegeboard.com/cbseniors.
College-Bound Seniors Reports
Your high school or district can purchase one or more of the following reports to help you better understand score and demographic trends for your student population:
- Profile Report: A practical resource for SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Test mean scores, plus select student responses from the SAT Questionnaire. The report contains:
- SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Test performance
- Course-taking patterns
- College plans and designated score recipients

- Highlights Report: Compare your class of 2008 with previous graduating classes. This report shows trend data for five years and also compares your high school seniors with your particular state and the total group (formerly reported as "nation"). The report contains:
- SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Test mean scores for five years
- Graphs and summary statistics for gender and ethnicity
- Demographic summary of SAT Reasoning Test takers

- College-Bound Seniors Roster: This roster provides the most recent test administration scores for the SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests for students who appear in your College-Bound Seniors Reports. The report contains:
- Student's full name, date of birth, and last four digits of their social security number
- SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Test scores from the student's most recent test administration
- Student's most recent test administration date

Electronic Data Formats
The College-Bound Seniors Reports can be ordered as raw data files, allowing you to conduct your own analyses. Choose from three format types: MS Excel , ASCII, or SAS® (requires SAS software to read). Each Electronic Data File is available on CD-ROM only.
The recommended file format is MS Excel. It contains a complete data set . Added features include:
- Individual student-level data recoded into a user-friendly format with variable and value labels
- SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests scores for the most recent administration
- Student responses to the updated SAT questionnaire containing grade-specific course work responses
The ASCII and SAS formats contain a partial data set. These files include:
- Individual student-level data
- SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests scores for the most recent administration
- Student responses to the SAT questionnaire without the grade-specific course work responses
IMPORTANT:
The electronic data extract Standard format is now a Microsoft Excel file. The ASCII (text) and SAS files are still available for purchase. Please see the brochure for more information.

- Comply with the College Board embargo*
- For district reports, be an officer of the district (for example, superintendent, assistant superintendent, district facilitator) with the authority to order reports
- For school reports, be an officer of the school (for example, principal, school counselor) with the authority to order reports
*Please note: College Board embargo. Information related to the class of 2008 is embargoed and not to be released to the public until 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 26 when the College Board holds its national press release. If you order by April 30 (early order) you will have the first chance to see data for your 2008 college-bound seniors, and have additional time to analyze your data and prepare presentations before the information is made public to the media.
