Acceptable Photo ID
Acceptable photo identification (government- or school-issued) in English is required for admission to the test center and will also be checked during the test.
Identification must be current, include a recent recognizable photo, and bear your name in English. It must match the name shown on your Admission Ticket and on the roster at the test center.
Examples are:
- State-issued driver's license
- State-issued non-driver ID
- School identification card
- Valid (non-expired) passport
- Student ID Form: Your school can prepare an ID form. This form must include a recognizable photo, and the school seal must overlap the photo. Sign the ID form in the presence of your counselor or principal. You will be asked to sign the ID form again at the test center. This form must be dated and is good for only one year.
- Talent Identification Program ID/Authorization to Test Form (Grades 7 and 8 only); photo not required
Unacceptable ID
If you do not take acceptable ID to the test center, you will not be permitted to test.
The following are examples of unacceptable ID:
- Social security card
- Credit card (including one with a photo)
- Parent's driver's license
- Birth certificate
- Expired passport
- Yearbook
- Written physical description of yourself (without photo), even if written on school stationery and signed by a counselor or principal.
Please note: Test center supervisors are under no obligation to admit students who bring unacceptable identification. Admittance to the test center does not mean that your form of identification is valid or that your scores are reported. All cases of questionable identification are subject to review and appropriate action, including possible score cancellation.
Homeschooled Students
Homeschooled students who do not have acceptable photo ID should go to their authorized Homeschool Association or local school district to obtain a Student ID Form on appropriate letterhead.
Students testing in India, Ghana, Nepal, Nigeria, and Pakistan
You must present your current and valid passport containing your signature and a current, recognizable photo. No other form of ID will be accepted.
