Youth Advisory Council Member Gets Accepted to 28 Colleges, Receives $300,000 in Scholarship Offers

JaKevis Brown, a high school senior at Hardee High School in Wauchula, Florida, and member of the College Board’s Youth Advisory Council, received 28 college acceptance letters and $300,000 in scholarship offers to attend college. This fall he'll attend Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla.

College Board’s ACES System Gets a Makeover

This month, the College Board launched its revamped Admitted Class Evaluation Service (ACES) online platform. The new system helps institutions go one step further to gather that necessary evidence and use it to make more informed decisions using scores from College Board assessments to promote positive student and institutional outcomes.

Over the course of this year, we'll be talking to student-athletes about the parallels between what they need to do to achieve success in both the classroom and on the field of play. In this first chapter of an occasional diary - Learning through Practice - the College Board talked to O'Koye Parker, a senior and college-recruited basketball player at Caravel Academy in Bear, Delaware, about how he's approaching his senior year and the importance of practice to his life.
