Two AP® teachers have been named national winners of the Fishman Prize for Superlative Classroom Practice. Michael Towne, physics and engineering teacher at Citrus Hill High School in Perris, Calif., and Kelly Zunkiewicz, precalculus and calculus teacher at Earl J. Lennard High School in Ruskin, Fla., were among four teachers honored by The New Teacher Project.
Now in its third year, the Fishman Prize spotlights excellence in teaching and the practices of the nation’s most effective educators working in high-poverty public schools. The four winners each receive $25,000 and participate in a summer residency program.
