In the last 24 hours, leaders in Connecticut and New Hampshire have announced their states plan to administer the SAT to all juniors, beginning in Spring 2016.
The states, which currently use the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) exam to comply with federal high school testing guidelines, Thursday received a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education to implement the changes for the upcoming school year.
College Board Chief of Assessments Cyndie Schmeiser said that the College Board is committed to supporting Connecticut and New Hampshire during the transition to statewide administration:
“The College Board will work with both states to ensure that students, parents, and educators can benefit from the opportunities connected to our assessments, including opportunities for fee waivers, scholarships, and free, personalized practice tools on KhanAcademy.org.”
