Overheard at Forum: Raul Fonts, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Providence CollegeKate Levin, Associate Director, External Communications
How does Forum benefit College Board members?
I love the informal conversations that happen between colleagues. I think they’re just as important as the sessions.
This year in particular, Forum is giving educators the opportunity to discuss the redesigned SAT. I think the information shared here will do a lot to ease the stress around transitioning between the current and new exam.
What’s one thing you’ve learned so far?
It’s early, so there is still a lot ahead, but I did attend the pre-conference session about the redesigned SAT. There is a lot of concern from K-12 about how to provide counsel to students about what version of the exam to take, how to prepare students for the redesigned PSAT, among other topics. It’s great to be able to support this dialogue and start answering the important questions.
What do you plan to bring back to your institution?
Because my entire staff can’t come to Forum, when I get back to Providence, I’ll update them on the current trends happening across the education community: what’s happening now and what we need to know to continue serving our students.
