Growing Momentum for AP Credit Policies in the States

Last Thursday, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner signed into law HB3428, legislation requiring all Illinois public colleges and universities to award credit to students who submit scores of 3 and higher on AP Exams. This is just one of many recent advances in AP funding and credit policies of late, and represents growing support at the state level for expanding AP opportunities.

AP Microeconomics is currently undergoing review to ensure that it reflects the most current scholarship and advances in the field of economics and that the exam assesses current college-level expectations. The College Board is sharing an initial draft of the AP Microeconomics course materials and is asking for feedback to ensure that both the course and exam present a balanced view that does not favor one school of economic thought over another.
