Higher education opportunities are often limited or non-existent for refugees around the world. The lives of future generations are lost in the process of fighting to survive in the host countries. Taking this matter into their hands, over 20 organizations and programs have put their efforts together to create the Connected Learning in Crisis Consortium (CLCC), whose goal is to expand higher education opportunities for refugees.

The Environmental Context Dashboard (ECD) is a new admissions tool that allows colleges to incorporate a student’s school and environmental context into their admissions process in a data-driven, consistent way.
Nan Davis, Austin College’s vice president for Institutional Enrollment, was presented the Homer P. Rainey Award for Outstanding Achievement and Service to Austin College at the annual Honors Convocation April 25 on campus.
Due to recent spikes in applications in the last few years, the Office of Admissions has implemented more ways of gathering information on prospective students. They are finishing up their third year of using the Environmental Context Dashboard (ECD).
