Recognizing Distinguished Service in Education - America's Promise Alliance
The College Board’s Amy Wilkins, Senior Fellow for Social Justice, presents Alma J. Powell with the organization’s Medal for Distinguished Service to Education in recognition of her national leadership and service in the advancement of educational opportunity. Mrs. Powell is one of the nation’s strongest youth advocates most notably through her work as chair of the Board of Directors for America's Promise Alliance. Hear Mrs. Powell speak to the importance of her organization's five promises to children, as well as from one of her students, Ola Ojewumi, who shares what the promises mean to her.

Elizabeth Slavitt, Director of Content at Khan Academy, describes how Khan Academy and the College Board have partnered to develop free resources to bring free, world-class SAT practice resources to all students. She demonstrates how students use Official SAT Practice to take charge of their learning and their futures, and asks that those who are listening spread the word.
Next Generation Partnerhips: A Panel Discussion with David Coleman
David Coleman, President of the College Board, moderates a panel with three key partners: Hadi Partovi, Co-founder and CEO, Code.org; Jeffrey Rosen, President and CEO, National Constitution Center; and Fidel A. Vargas, President and CEO, Hispanic Scholarship Fun, on how to leverage technology to inspire academic success. From developing interactive tools for students to engage with the Constitution, to providing access to scholarships and mentoring, and paving pathways for all students to succeed in computer science courses, these organizations play important roles in propelling our nation’s students into opportunities.
