More than 150 first-time Forum attendees got some insider tips on how to get the most out of their Forum experience as part of the “New Attendee Welcome” session Monday morning.
Gordon Stanley, director of counseling at the Marist School and former College Board Trustee, led a panel of fellow former Trustees, including Leo Munson, associate provost for academic support at Texas Christian University, Peggy O’Neill Skinner, science department head at the Bush School, and Ted Spencer, senior advisor on admissions outreach at the University of Michigan. The panelists discussed their history with the College Board and the benefits they’ve received from attending at the Forum.
The crowd played an active role in the session, asking questions about how to learn more about key issues such as linking the K–12 and higher education conversations about financial aid, strategies for preparing students for college, and noncognitive admission requirements.
