Students are our most powerful advocates for college access tools. In partnership with 11 school districts, the College Board has launched an Official SAT Practice Student Ambassador pilot program to amplify student voices in our mission to increase access to college and career.
About 107 Ambassadors from 47 high schools across the country are working to spread the word about Official SAT Practice and help clear the path for more students to own their future.
The participating districts are:
- Garland Independent School District, TX
- Hawaii State Department of Education
- Houston Independent School District, TX
- Jersey City Public Schools, NJ
- Klein Independent School District, TX
- Montgomery County Public Schools, MD
- School District of Osceola County, FL
- Pearland Independent School District, TX
- San Antonio Independent School District, TX
- Chicago Public Schools, IL,
- Newark Public Schools, NJ

The College Board is providing support to each district through: access to data; Educator and Student Toolkits containing materials and resources for every step of the way; College Board and Khan Academy swag, including collared shirts and sunglasses; and opportunities to connect with and build a community of Ambassadors from across the country. With this support, each district, school, and Ambassador is implementing their program in a way that makes the most sense for their student body.
Ambassadors in the Houston area, for example, are attending college fairs, overseeing booths at lunch, and opening up the computer lab to help students get connected on Official SAT Practice. Ambassadors in Hawaii are excited to help organize practice tests for their classmates. Other Ambassadors are creating videos and plan to run social media campaigns to get the word out.
The College Board is fortunate to work with a hardworking team of educators to bring this opportunity for students to life. They’re not only building leadership skills, but also playing a part in helping their classmates be more ready for college.
“Our vision in Klein ISD is that every student enters with a promise and exits with a purpose. With this in mind, the Official SAT Ambassador pilot program is a natural extension and active demonstration of this belief. We invite all students to prepare for their post-secondary experiences through the College Board-Khan Academy partnership, and the Official SAT Ambassadors from each of our five high schools truly represent our student body, motivating them to succeed. This partnership creates a culture of possibility and hope!” said Dr. Bret Champion, Superintendent, Klein ISD.
Watch for more news coming out of this program as all of our Ambassadors hit the ground running.
