College Board Announces Software Update for PowerFAIDSCollege Board Communications
PowerFAIDS version 23.2 is now available, marking a significant advance for the College Board’s signature financial aid management solution. The update emphasizes integration between PowerFAIDS and campus systems.
PowerFAIDS 23.2 introduces APIs as a means to offer its users even more choices for automating data exchanges between PowerFAIDS and other campus systems. This first set of APIs provide the ability to update a students’ period of enrollment information, their personal information, as well as any custom student data a campus maintains.
Release 23.2 also expands its existing XML-based integration to easily update students’ records based on documents collected and/or the outcomes of federal data verification performed by third party vendors. Users add comments to student records from other systems and resolve FAFSA data matching issues. Integration and other tasks can be automated using a PowerFAIDS task, which allows users to test scheduled tasks, schedule tasks on a recurring basis, or execute tasks on an ad-hoc basis.
PowerFAIDS 23.2 also provides a solution to campuses dealing with an increased number of student records for which no SSN was provided by applicants, preventing the need for time-consuming manual matching. PowerFAIDS users can now define their own matching logic using name, date of birth, gender, email, phone, and address information. The abilities to resolve unmatched records and look for duplicate records were also significantly improved.
“Beyond ensuring compliant support for the latest federal regulations, Release 23.2 enables users to automate management of financial aid through technology and functional advances, and continue to focus on their core mission, serving students from enrollment to completion” said Steve Bumbaugh, Senior Vice President, College and Career Access, at the College Board.
