Why did you come to the College Board Forum?
I was asked to be part of a presentation, but I have also not been to Forum for quite a while so I wanted to start attending [again] because there is a lot of good information. I used to think it was more for those who were in K-12, and the recruiting aspect of higher education, but there is a lot of information about financial aid that you can obtain here.
What were some of the highlights of the Forum for you?
Hear[ing] what other people had to say about what’s going on in higher education, and also [finding] new ideas on how to do things. My favorite thing was a session where they were talking about what “middle income” is versus “middle class,” and I really never thought about separating the two, but they really are two separate things. “Middle class” is more of an attitude, how people carry themselves, versus being tied to middle income.
What are you going to bring back to your institution?
We are trying to meet the needs of middle-income families, and I think we really need to sit down and get a clear definition of who should be a part of that middle-income family definition.
