Focused Assessments

The SAT Suite of Assessments represents a key component of the College Board Readiness and Success System. The tests that compose the SAT Suite of Assessments — the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 — focus on the knowledge, skills, and understandings that research shows are essential for college and career readiness and success.

Providing Actionable Data

Because the tests are aligned in content and use a common score scale, the assessments work together to provide benchmarks and consistent feedback so both educators and students can monitor progress.

Our easy-to-use, online reporting portal:

  • Enables students to understand and act on their test results, so they can build skills over time.
  • Provides teachers with data that can inform instruction.
  • Supports administrators’ equity and access goals.

Inspiring Productive Practice

Within the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9, students will find questions and tasks that closely resemble what is already happening in classrooms across the nation and the globe. This means that practice for the tests both reflects and encourages the best of classroom work.

Opening Doors to College

The SAT is a globally recognized college admission test accepted at virtually all colleges and universities, and the College Board encourages all students to take advantage of higher education. Our initiatives include expanding partnerships with scholarship providers, providing SAT fee waivers and college application fee waivers for eligible students, and connecting students to colleges and scholarship providers through Student Search Service®.

Expanding Access to AP

Data from the PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, and PSAT 8/9 can be used to identify students with the potential to succeed in AP. Learn more about AP Potential.
