Administering the PSAT/NMSQT with Accommodations
SSD Coordinators should work with PSAT/NMSQT Coordinators to do the following:
- Determine which students taking the PSAT/NMSQT are approved for accommodations.
- Order special test booklet and answer sheet formats.
- Make arrangements for testing with accommodations.
Note that the College Board exam accommodations for which a student is approved may differ from the accommodations approved by the school.
For detailed instructions on administering the PSAT/NMSQT with accommodations, see the Supervisor’s Manual for the PSAT/NMSQT (.pdf/1.86MB).

Ordering Special Formats for the PSAT/NMSQT
SSD Coordinators and PSAT/NMSQT Coordinators should work together to ensure that correct materials are ordered. Order special formats only for students whose accommodations are approved by SSD.
PSAT/NMSQT Coordinators can easily order special formats, such as Braille and large print:
- Sign in to the PSAT/NMSQT Coordinator site.
- Select Place/update test material order and request fee waivers.
- Select Order materials for students with disabilities.
See Register & Order Materials for more information.
To order practice tests in Braille and other special formats, contact SSD.
Nonstandard Administration Report (NAR)
Before test day, SSD Coordinators should use SSD Online to create a PSAT/NMSQT Nonstandard Administration Report (NAR). This report includes the names, SSD Eligibility Codes, and approved accommodations of each PSAT/NMSQT taker approved for accommodations.
As close to test day as possible, print the NAR. Click the link in the top right corner of your SSD Online dashboard and follow the instructions.
On test day, the NAR must be completed and returned to the College Board with all used answer sheets and related materials. Scores will not be released until the NAR is received.
If a transfer student’s testing accommodations were approved by the College Board while the student attended another school, he or she is still eligible for the approved accommodations, but the SSD Coordinator at the new school must record the transfer. Learn how on Transfer Students. If the student has not previously applied for accommodations, the SSD Coordinator should open a new request as soon as possible.
